I’m In A Sugar Coma

If you’re wondering how the hell I managed to not update my blog until now today, it’s because I was busy making THESE:

You know, the ones from the cover of the book.

Yes, I broke down and did it.  After the disappointing peanut butter cookies I made a couple days ago, I needed to give the cookie-making another go to prove to myself that I hadn’t lost my magic touch.

And trust me, these cookies took some serious commitment.

Starting with two hours of cookie-batter making last night that began with grating fresh ginger:

And managed to resemble breastfed baby shit partway through.

After about two hours of ridiculously careful measuring, tons of mixing, and bit of sweat and precious blood, I gave birth to my third child.

It was another home birth, but the result wasn’t quite what we got when April popped out of me.

In fact, it kind of looked like a big… well, you be the judge of that…

After a night of chilling in the refrigerator, I finally baked them.  They pretty much looked just like the cover and taste divine.

If you’re really nice to me, maybe I’ll spend the time and make you a batch.

But no promises.
