A Surprisingly Sane Blog

Please inform the weatherman/woman/person that I would appreciate a new forecast for this summer’s weather.

Instead of this miserably hot, dry, sunny-as-hell-and-sure-to-continue-for-the-next-six-months bullshit, I would like highs around 72 degrees, regular rainfall, and a nice cool breeze. Nighttime lows in the 40s and 50s so that I can cuddle up with my down comforter are also greatly encouraged.

A high around 100 in early May just isn’t my cup of tea, and neither is hearing the air conditioner click on because the house reached sweltering degrees in the middle of the night.  Simply put, desert summers aren’t exactly my definition of pleasant.  I believe a weather recall is in order.

My sister and I took a trip to Target (our favorite place to go these days…) and were nosing around the makeup section.

Everything was fine.  I mean, despite my disgusting taste in nail polish, that is (a gaudy, bright Barbie-doll pink caught my eye for some gawd-only-knows why reason… and I just couldn’t resist to save my life).

But then I saw it.  The most repulsive thing to ever hit makeup stands:

Fashion tips for your toenails. I mean, if they were cute stickers or something, that would be fine.  But they were *barf* french manicure extension tips for your toenails.

Please explain to me the reason one would want long toenails.  WHY?  How is that attractive in the least?

I mean, could you imagine having sex with someone who has feet like that?  Or trying to hug them? How does one avoid getting their ankles clobbered if they go anywhere near something like that?

I manage to smash my feet on every wall, children’s toy, and inanimate object known to woman that I come into contact with, so how on earth do toenails survive at those lengths, anyhow?

*shudders*

I think this is turning into a phobia.  Maybe my Prozac isn’t working correctly?
