Time Out From The Daily Grind
First of all, please pardon any typos that may pop up. While my iPhone has a pretty good spell checker, trying to type an entire blog on one just may prove to be a pain in the ass. But we shall see.
Waiting to greet us once our bumpy flight finally made it safely to the ground in good ol’ Oklahoma was a terrific, violent thunderstorm. Although it was lovely (and I really do mean that), driving in it after surviving my three-year-old’s sudden mid-flight bowel explosion and my 9-month-old’s “get me off this plane” freak-out was a little more than exhausting, to say the least.
We finally made it to my grandparents’ house about 2:30 in the morning. Wouldn’t you know it, I woke up at the ass crack of dawn despite our late arrival, and I’m actually in a decent mood.
I must say, one of my favorite things about this place is the food. Pancakes and sausage with several cups of coffee for breakfast, deli sandwiches and homemade pickled beets and chocolate cake for lunch… And for dinner? Ice cream from Braum’s. I probably won’t fit in my jeans by the end of the week at this rate.
I think tonight I just may run around like a little kid and chase lightening bugs. Or maybe I’ll just get more than three hours of sleep.
Pardon me while I slip into a fatigue coma.

I hope you’re having a great time. The house is pretty lonely without you and the kids.
