What’s That Smell?

Oklahoma smells better than any place I’ve ever been.

If I could bottle up its scent and produce a whole line of shower gels based off its glorious, fresh-cut grass and sweet breeze, I’d call it “Heaven”. If I ever ever happen to be deemed worthy enough to make it to the pearly gates, I imagine God’s living room would be just like my grandpa’s pastures, complete with the aroma of the humid Oklahoma summer.

Besides my husband, it’s my favorite fragrance.

I have been coming here my entire life, and it always smells exactly the same. And while it’s just a little too rural and far from the ocean for me to ever call it home, I have always cherished my moments spent sitting under the patio with the wind blowing and the horny bulls mooing obnoxiously at the heffers.

It sucks that I’m leaving tomorrow.

Although, I must say I’m looking forward to seeing James and sleeping in my own bed.

And my computer. I miss that, too. However, I think I’ve done a pretty good job keeping in touch with the Internet world via my phone. Can I hear a round of applause for the iPhone 3G and its network?
