A Poll: Politics

I’m currently researching a fairly political topic, and so it got me thinking… how liberal or conservative are my readers?  Just out of curiosity.  And as always, results are anonymous, even to me.

How do you define yourself politcally?

I don’t know how to classify myself, as it seems like how I define conservative, moderate or liberal is much different from other people.
I’ll give just one example of many to illustrate…I believe that all drugs should be legal (although have never done any in my life). Many would call that “liberal.” I actually view it as quite “conservative” in that it holds to the original intent of our founding fathers for us to be free to make our own choices as long as they do not infringe upon someone else’s life, liberty or property.
By party affiliation I am a Libertarian.

i have absolutely no solid view on politics. if you lay out an issue, and give me both sides of the story, i will give you an opinion based on the information you’ve given me.

but where politics as a whole are concerned, i am very skeptical borderline paranoid. i don’t trust any politicians, and i think their word is always backed up by lies and half truths.

i try to float through life on a big bubble of political ignorance, because i’m pretty sure i’m not smart enough to grasp the full concept of the issues, and i don’t like expressing a concrete opinion unless i have all the facts.

ultimately, politics make my eyes cross and i’m pretty sure if i actually tried to pay attention to the issues of our time, i’d go blind and deaf. it’s possible i’m already dumb, in which case it’s a good thing i don’t have anything to do with political decisions. ;)

I voted conservative, I’m registered as a republican. But I don’t agree with republicans on all points. Like J sometimes I prefer to hear both sides of the issue and pick who I agree and that’s not always the conservative side.

I am something in between liberal and socialist.
