Note To Self
Look for slippery things on the staircase before venturing down.
I took a tumble down them thanks to the fact that my child left a sheet full of stickers towards the bottom of the stairs. Who knew a thing containing stickers could be so freaking slippery? My foot flew out from under me and bump bump bump bump, I landed on my ass with a painful thump, catching myself between the front door and the bottom of the stairwell with my right foot and my right hand.
And now there’s a weird lump on the tendon in my wrist and I can’t flex my foot without screaming bloody hell.
You know what the stupidest part was? I was just talking to someone last night about how I fell down some stairs and landed in the emergency room in Germany several years ago. It had been a freaking miracle that I hadn’t broken my foot in that fall, a fact which the doctor attributed to my extreme but freaky amount of natural flexibility.
I guess I’m subconsciously trying to make up for that or something.
Owwww… pain.

Ouch. Poor woman. Hope you start feeling better quickly.
Similar experience in how speaking of something seems to bring it about…I was siting at the dining hall table my Freshman year of college telling my friend that I had never broken a bone before…as I finished the sentence I gently dropped my hand back to the table (yes, I talk with my hands), and my wrist just caught the edge of the table and bam, I hairline fractured my wrist.

Oh wow. Painful. I guess the only good part is that you did it in the privacy of your own home instead in front of a ton of people.

Oh man! I have 3 levels in the place I live and I am constantly going up/down the stairs. I fell once, and got a nice rugburn, and oddly — almost fell “up” the stairs today. Crap! Be careful! You know what they say about accidents — most happen in the home!

I am happy I don’t have stairs…otherwise Maggie and I would be in a constant state of black and blue….
