A Poll: Belly Stretchmarks
I’m baring my belly for the world to see. It’s one of those things I hide like crazy… and since I can’t seem to keep anything else about my body a secret, well dammit, here you go. Enjoy. Or don’t. Whatever, I don’t care. Just be honest in the poll.
I know the stretch marks aren’t that bad, and I am very blessed to have lost the baby weight without too much of a hitch… but I’m unsure whether or not people would look at my stomach and think it looks disgusting or not, and I’d like to know the truth.
Pardon the quality of the photos. It was the best I could do with my phone.

Are your eyeballs trying to escape your head in terror at the sight of the loose skin around and under my belly button?

In case you weren’t sure FOR SURE that they’re actually pictures of ME, well, now you know FOR SURE.
As a side note, that last photo makes me look like I need to eat a fucking sandwich.

Eeeeek! Close up!
I think for having two kids, well, my belly looks pretty damn good. But I would be lying if I said the stretch marks don’t bother me. A lot. I grew up in a very critical family, so I’m extremely hard on myself. Plus, the entertainment industry is constantly giving women hell for stretchmarks and cellulite. Every time my husband sees me naked, I fight a moment of shame while the urge to hide my body hits me like a tidal wave. It’s so stupid. He thinks I am gorgeous and loves my belly exactly as it is. SO WHY CAN’T I ACCEPT THAT?
As always, the poll results are completely anonymous.
You don’t have to be nice. I can take a hint.

I’m not brave enough to post a pic of my belly.. but mine has a few more stretch marks and more loose skin from just one baby so far. I think its one of those things you notice and it bothers you, but if I passed you in a bikini on the street– I would never notice. I think your stomach looks great!

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I think your belly looks terrific and you’re incredibly beautiful. I love you!
Btw, nice monkey case on your phone.

holy crap I can only WISH I looked that good! My god if you think you are disgusting you don’t even want to know what my stomach looks like! 3 kids later and I have stretch marks on my stretch marks and you know that fat “apron” you get when your skin falls down before you lose all the baby weight?? YEAH THATS ME! EWWW!! You look great!

I have the same mental issues when I’m naked in front of Caleb, I just feel uncomfortable. All I can think about is that when I squish my belly skin together it looks like a dog’s jowls mixed with a 100 year old’s wrinkley skin. I did wear a bikini in public at the beach in Mexico though, and when I go to hotels. …but not in front of people I know. I think you look great though.

Sweetie, I only WISH my belly looked like yours! I weighed 98 lbs. before getting pregnant with my twins, and my belly looks like a roadmap now. I somehow have managed to get back down to my pre-baby weight, but sadly my belly will NEVER be the same. I had a C-section so I have that little “smile” of poochy fat over my scar, and the stretchmarks??? Hooboy, don’t even get me started! My stretchmarks go so far above my bellybutton that they’re almost touching my breasts.
I would KILL to look like you do in a bikini. Wear it, sistah, and wear it proud!!!

I’m still looking for the stretch marks – I can’t see them. I understand the feelings that you’re expressing – you just need a reality check. You look great.

Honestly, you look great. The idea of a perfect body is for those that can afford liposuction and tummy tucks. I must say though, I find it refreshing that you ask peoples opinions. So many people leave their houses without looking in the mirror. Not only do they not ask people how they look, but they fail to ask themselves. We were walking through the Park Mall last night, and I saw so many people wearing clothes that they shouldn’t have been. One girl actually sent me into a fit of the giggles. It didn’t help that Kyle was asking where her ass ended and her legs began. You still have the awesome bod that you’ve always had. Own it!! Not all of us are that lucky.
