Shit I’ve Learned
- I will never be the smartest, fastest, funniest, strongest, best-at-anything-est… however, as long as I can make the people that come into contact with me feel good about themselves, I feel content and happy with the fact that I will never be any of the aforementioned traits.
- Planning too far in advance is completely useless because you never know what life is going to throw at you beforehand.
- You can wash your hands like crazy, but you’re still gonna get sick.
- Young children are the most honest among us.
- Marrying into a Chinese family equals you will never, ever be good enough, smart enough, or anything-else-enough in any way, shape, or form… and you will always feel shitty about it no matter how stupid you realize your in-laws really are.
- Differences and variety are beautiful.
- Friends who work for Microsoft are not ever going to be happy that I own (and am madly in love with) a Mac.
- The second I think I’ve got it all figured out, life throws a major curve ball at me… and I realize I don’t know a damn thing.
- The apple can only fall so far from the fuckin’ tree, and that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
- If it makes you feel good about yourself, then maybe it’s not as bad as you originally thought it was.
- I’m not the boring loser I always thought I was.
- I will never understand some schools of thought, and that’s perfectly okay.
- The older I get, the more open-minded I become… and I wish it were that way for everyone, but it’s not.
- I need to accept the shit that has happened to me if I ever stand a chance at getting past it. I honestly don’t know how to to it or if it will ever truly happen… but it doesn’t mean I’m gonna stop trying.
- Coming forward and saying the hardest and most embarrassing truths about myself is one of the most difficult but rewarding experiences of my life. It helps others know they are not alone, and that means more to me than I ever thought possible.
- It’s okay to admit something hurts, and tears are a necessary part of life.

I’m not sure if it’s a good thing or not, but in lecture today we were covering different kinds of prolapse and I thought of you.
