Kubota Gardens
One of the lesser-known tourist attractions in South Seattle is the beautiful Kubota Gardens. We took my family there yesterday, and we all enjoyed strolling through the peaceful Japanese gardens.

James and I have made a point to stop by there every couple of months because it looks so different every season.

My family’s visit has been going extremely well, and I’ll be sad to see them leave for Tucson tomorrow.

But we know we’ll at least see everyone in May, if not sooner, because that’s when Kathryn and Scotty will be getting married on a beautiful Hawaiian beach.

We are really looking forward to having Scotty as an official member of our family. Not only does he make my sister happier than she’s ever been, but he’s also a really great friend of ours. And he’s not afraid to strike a dorky ninja pose for a silly photo op.

Then James got ahold of my camera and decided I’d make the perfect subject for a couple shots… so I’m going to take this opportunity to point out my stylin’ waterproof boots that I got for Christmas.

I must say, I look like a true Northwestern Girl in that photo. In Tucson, my fair skin just made me look unnatural. Here, it totally works.

Love the boots! I’ve been stopping by your blog almost daily and have been meaning to comment on everything, but then Adam comes along and starts to climb me so I get distracted. But I’m glad you had a good Christmas!
